Hausbrandt supports the second Edition of the “La Calcina-John Ruskin: Writing on Architecture” Literary Competition, whose award ceremony will take place in conjunction with the opening of the Architecture Biennale 2023.

The Company has always shown its support for art and the city of Venice in particular, as the Hausbrandt Group plays an active role in numerous activities to promote beauty and culture in general.  This Literary Competition is inspired by John Ruskin, one of the most eclectic figures in the panorama of international art criticism of the 19th century, and by the place he loved most in the lagoon city, La Calcina – numbered among the Historic Establishments of Italy and the Historic Cafés in Europe – and it is aimed at those who have written about the city and its historical-artistic complexity.

The jury – chaired by Giancarlo Carnevale and with distinguished members on the Scientific Committee – has established Javier Atoche Intili and Michela Pirro as winners in the long text and short text categories respectively.  “Rebuilding Italy: the work of the Pontifical Central Commission for Sacred Art in Abruzzo and Molise after World War II” by Michela Pirro, to be published in the Ateneo Veneto journal, is the winner of the Hausbrandt Trieste 1892 Prize.

The award ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, May 18 at 5pm at the Ateneo Veneto in Campo San Fantin. The celebratory toast at the end of the ceremony will bear the Col Sandago signature: it will be Vigna del Cuc Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Brut to delight guests at the end of the event.
