1.    Accessibility Requirements and Applicable Criteria

Digital accessibility requirements are defined by Legislative Decree No. 82 of 27 May 2022 “Implementation of Directive (EU) 2019/882 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 April 2019 on the accessibility requirements for products and services”, which, for technical aspects, refers to the UNI EN 301549 standard.

Specifically, website compliance must be assessed against the criteria set out in Chapter 9 “Web” and Chapter 10 “Non-web Documents”. These chapters incorporate the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level A and AA.

The four core principles of digital accessibility under WCAG 2.1 are:

In accordance with UNI EN 301549, which defines 50 success criteria for website accessibility assessment, technical analyses have been carried out on the website’s content, including textual and non-textual information, downloadable documents and forms, and bidirectional interaction processes such as digital form submission, authentication, identification, and payment processes.

Of the 50 success criteria set out by applicable technical standards, the following is considered not applicable to this website:

●      1.2.4 Captions (Live)

Exempted Content

Article 1, paragraph 5 of Legislative Decree No. 82/2022 states that the provisions of the Decree do not apply to the following website and mobile application content:

2. General Description of the Service

This website is intended for the end consumer and provides a commercial information service for the Hausbrandt brand, offering users the opportunity to discover and learn more about the company’s products. Users can find out more about the company and its commercial offering, explore the services provided, browse the recipes proposed by the company, read news updates, contact the company, and directly access the e-commerce platform.

3. Operation of the Service

The website is accessible via desktop, tablet, and smartphone devices through major web browsers currently available on the market and is available in multiple languages. Navigation follows a linear and intuitive menu structure.

Users may access the website’s features as follows:

4. Compliance with Accessibility Requirements

Hausbrandt Trieste 1892 S.p.A. engaged an independent digital accessibility expert to conduct a technical compliance audit of the website. Following the audit, a report was issued outlining corrective actions and improvements required to achieve compliance.

The accessibility features considered for the website and available to users include, but are not limited to, the following:

● Compatibility with assistive technologies (e.g., NVDA, JAWS)

● Keyboard navigation

● Adequate colour contrast

● Text alternatives for graphic and multimedia content

● Zoom and text resizing

● Subtitles for multimedia content and text transcripts

● Animation control and reduction of non-essential motion

● Forms and input fields with clear labels to facilitate interaction

Accessibility of web content for users who rely on assistive technologies, such as screen readers, alternative keyboards, or voice commands, is also supported by the presence of ARIA attributes. These attributes help describe the role, state, and properties of user interface elements, communicate dynamic interactions (e.g., expandable menus, modals, sliders) to screen readers, and support keyboard navigation within complex components.

To further enhance accessibility and the overall user experience, a widget (UserWay PRO) has been integrated into the website. Its use by website users is completely free of charge and helps improve the site’s compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1).

UserWay PRO provides multiple features to improve website accessibility and user experience through a dedicated panel accessible by clicking the widget icon or via the keyboard shortcut CTRL+U, as listed below:

In addition to the features that users can activate through the accessibility menu, the UserWay PRO widget is capable of detecting numerous non-compliances on the site and performing the necessary corrections in real time, without modifying the source code but only what the browser displays on screen. This allows the website to be more usable for all end users, including those who rely on assistive technologies.

Compliance Status

To determine the website’s compliance status, the guidelines and assessment checklist prepared by AgID were used. The technical assessment carried out by an accessibility expert consultant expressed the following status, referring to the date of drafting or updating this notice.

This website is partially compliant with the requirements set out in Appendix A of the UNI CEI EN 301549 standard due to the cases of non-compliance listed below:

In particular:

This accessibility statement also considers as resolved those non-compliances corrected by the UserWay PRO widget, as the modifications it performs meet the success criteria set out by the current regulations.

5. Accessibility Monitoring Process

Hausbrandt Trieste 1892 S.p.A. has devoted particular attention to the service delivery process to ensure that it meets the requirements defined by digital accessibility regulations, also relying on the support of external consultants for the following activities:

Hausbrandt Trieste 1892 S.p.A. intends to periodically evaluate the performance of technical audits to monitor website accessibility over time, potentially with the involvement of third-party specialists in digital accessibility, in order to implement improvements also based on user suggestions.
